CAM for Haas

Haas VF and toolroom mills (TM, Mini Mill), classic and Next Generation controls.

From a post users run

What the Haas post writes

  • % at the start and end, O1000, comments in capitals
  • T<n> M6 (the Haas tool change takes Z up itself), then G0 G43 Z<clearance> H<n>
  • Drilling cycles G81 / G82 / G83 / G73 with G98; rigid tapping G84 (no M29 on a Haas)
  • Dwell G4 P in seconds, always with a decimal point (P2.000)
  • At the end G91 G28 Z0, G28 Y0 (the table comes forward), G90, M30

Files end in .nc. Every file is read back before export and checked against the simulated toolpath.

Shaped after a Haas post users already run (SharpCam's Haas VF machine definition) and the Haas G-code card.

Mist is written as flood: on a Haas M83 / M84 is the air jet.
