Getting started

1. Open or draw a part

Open MillPath and choose Open a drawing (DXF or SVG), Draw it (rectangles, circles, lines, text) or Try the sample. Set the stock thickness and the work zero under Stock & setup.

2. Add operations

Click a shape on the drawing, then pick an operation: Profile (cut out or around), Pocket, Drill, Bore, Engrave, V-carve and more. Found in the drawing lists what MillPath recognises — holes, outlines, text — with a suggested operation for each.

Each operation has its tool, depth and passes. Tool feeds and speeds are starting values: take them from your tool maker for your material.

3. Simulate and check

Play the simulation below the drawing. Safety checks reports collisions, gouges, uncut material and anything the post would write wrongly.

4. Export

Choose your controller under Export options → Post, then Export G-code. New to MillPath on this machine? Run the controller check first.
