Operations
An operation turns shapes into a toolpath. Click a shape on the drawing, then pick an operation in Add operation (or press its key). Found in the drawing suggests operations for what MillPath recognises.
| Operation | Key | For |
|---|---|---|
| Profile | C | Cuts along an outline: around a part to cut it out, inside a hole, or on the line. |
| P | Clears the area inside an outline to a depth, leaving islands where there are inner shapes. | |
| Adaptive clear | A | Roughing with a constant, small sideways bite and the full flute length in depth. |
| Rest machining | R | Clears only what a larger tool left behind, usually in the corners. |
| Drill | D | Drills holes at circle centres, with a drilling cycle where the controller has one. |
| Bore | B | Cuts a round hole larger than the tool with a helical path. |
| Thread mill | T | Cuts an internal or external thread with a thread mill following a helix. |
| Chamfer | H | Bevels an edge with a chamfer mill or V-bit. |
| Engrave | E | Follows lines and single-stroke text at a fixed depth. |
| V-carve | K | Carves outline text and shapes with a V-bit, deep where the stroke is wide and shallow where it is narrow. |
| Facing | F | Flattens the top of the stock. |
Adaptive clear, Rest machining, Bore and Thread mill are under More in the operation list.
