Facing
Flattens the top of the stock.
Use it for: Surfacing a rough board, a spoilboard, or taking stock to a thickness.
Tool: The largest flat end mill or a surfacing bit.
Settings
| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Depth | How much to take off the top. | 0.5 mm |
| Stepdown | Stepdown. | 0.5 mm |
| Stepover | Sideways step, % of the tool diameter. | 70 % |
| Pattern | Zigzag or offset. | Zigzag |
Every operation also has: Tool, Include in G-code, Own safe heights, Start depth, Coolant — see Heights. Hover the (i) next to a setting in the app for the same explanations.
Tips
- Facing covers the whole stock; on a nested sheet it is off (it would surface the whole sheet).
